La pubblicazione di questo dépliant d’epoca vuole ricordare la figura del Dott. Bernardo Battilana (1927-2009) , ex Sindaco di Voltaggio e discendente del pittore Sinibaldo Scorza .
Il complesso conventuale dei Cappuccini di Voltaggio, presso cui la Pinacoteca ha sede permanente , pone le sue basi sul finire del secolo XVI.The Capuchins Monastery in Voltaggio is the permanent seat of the Art Gallery.

The Art Gallery of Voltaggio reopen for the summertime, till the end of October
La raccolta dei quadri composta da oltre 200 dipinti venne destinata al Convento dei Cappuccini di Voltaggio verso fine Ottocento per volontà di Padre Pietro Repetto che aveva radunato questo notevole patrimonio artistico, in poco meno di un trentennio, nel Convento di Santa Caterina a Genova.The collection with more than 200 paintings was transferred from the Convent of St. Catherine of Genoa to the Capuchins’ Monastery of Voltaggio during the late nineteenth century by Father Pietro Repetto’s will, who assembled this remarkable artistic heritage in less than thirty years. The collection began around 1870 thanks to religious congregations, government decrees, museums, libraries and family donations. An important support was also given by the Duchess of Galliera Maria Brignole Sale.
Studio’ e riprodusse i lavori dei grandi del suo tempo, traendo la maggiore ispirazione dagli artisti fiamminghi ed in particolar modo da Albrect Durer.Nella Pinacoteca e’ conservato uno dei capolavori del pittore voltaggino : il “Cristo confortato dagli Angeli”.He studied and reproduced different works of the great artists of his time, taking his inspiration from the greatest Flemish artists, especially from Albrect Durer. In our Art Gallery we have one masterpiece of this great painter of Voltaggio: “Christ comforted by the angels”.
Entrato a soli diciasette anni nell’ordine dei Cappuccini si diede ad una pittura di tipo devozionale influenzato dal manierismo lombardo."Cristo portacroce", "San Francesco", "Compianto sul Cristo morto" e numerose opere della sua bottega sono conservate in Pinacoteca .He joined the Capuchins' Order when he was only 17 and strove for a devotional painting style, influenced by the mannerism of Lombardy.“Christ Carrying the Cross”, “St. Francesco”, “the Lamented Christ’s death” and other works of his shop are exhibited in the Art Gallery.
Domenico Fiasella detto il Sarzana si forma nella bottega del pittore genovese G.B.Paggi fino all’eta’ di sedici anni. Testimonianza di un momento di grande ricchezza inventiva del pittore (seconda meta’ degli anni Venti del Seicento) e’ il quadro conservato a Voltaggio : "Sant’Antonio Abate contempla la morte di San Paolo Eremita".DDomenico Fiasella , known as “the Sarzana” was trained to the painting by his father, since he was young and started his artistic life at the age of 16 with G. B. Paggi. The portrait “Sant’Antonio Abate contemplating the death of St. Paul the Hermit” in the Voltaggio Art Gallery, is evidence of his great and full creativity (second half of the 1620).
Pittore e scultore, conosciuto anche come Lucchetto da Genova. Nel 1583 accetto’ la chiamata del re di Spagna Filippo II per le decorazioni dell’Escorial. Dell’autore troviamo in Pinacoteca una “Deposizione” e un “San Girolamo” .Also known as “Luchetto da Genova”, he was a painter and a sculptor. In 1583 he accepted to move to Spain near King Philip II Court to decorate the “El Escorial”. In the Art Gallery we have a “Deposition” and “St. Jerome”.
